Contour Pro 2008 Edition New Features
Notice, these features are only available for Contour Pro Minnesota, Contour Pro Wisconsin, and Contour Pro Woods/Rainy Editions.
• Microsoft Vista Compatible. LakeMaster Contour Pro is now compatible with all versions of Microsoft Vista operating systems.
• Ability to view aerial imagery using internal web link to Microsoft Virtual Earth.
• Ability to view weather forecast information using internal web link to Weather Underground.
• Ability to calculate water acres for specific depth ranges.
• Ability to change scale bar types and enter custom scale map ranges.
• Ability to use mouse scroll wheel to zoom in, zoom out, and pan around the map.
• Ability to color code waypoints.
• Ability to name waypoints. This feature will allow the user to create waypoints and assign a descriptive name for easy waypoint referencing. The waypoint name will be limited to 8 text characters in length, this is an important thing to remember and to take into account when naming your features. The name will be displayed on the waypoint in the LakeMaster Contour Pro system. When that waypoint is exported to a GPS unit, that name will remain consistent. When importing waypoints for your GPS unit, the names that were assigned will also be imported to the LakeMaster system.
• Ability to interface with Lowrance / Eagle handheld & GPS chartplotting systems. We have added the abililty to create Lowrance / Eagle USR file formatted data files. These files can be directly imported or exported from the LakeMaster system to these GPS units using a MMC/SD card.
• Ability to interface with Garmin GPS units via a USB interface cable. We have incorporated Garmin USB interface software to accomodate the move in technology from serial interfaces to USB interface. To interface using a Garmin USB device, be sure to set the port to USB and select Search for GPS. Completing these processes will ensure the correct port and GPS model are selected.
• Incorporated new road file for state of Minnesota. We have also added the support for displaying roads names in the
LakeMaster system. This allows the user to create truly great lake maps or even directional maps for your friends. The road labeling in LakeMaster is one of kind, nobody does it better. Our programmers spent numerous months perfecting this technology, you will be the ones to benefit!
• (MINNESOTA ONLY) Incorporated over 2,600 public access locations for lakes in Minnesota. This new feature allows the user to quickly tell what type of launch is present & maintained by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. We have gone through our list of lakes that contain contour information & updated the location of the public access. This new layer of data allows the user to determine the access location, access type present, and number of parking spots.
• Ability to transfer multiple waypoints on screen using new transfer feature. This feature makes it extremely efficient to create
waypoint(s) on a specific lake and transfer all waypoints in one simple step.
• Ability to interface with latest Garmin format software version 110.
• Ability to backup custom information such as waypoints, routes, labels, & symbols to a determined folder location on your computer system. This feature replaces the 3.5" floppy drive restriction.
• Ability to change waypoint coordinate display label. The GPS coordinate for waypoints can now be set to either DMS (Degrees / Minutes / Seconds) or DM (Degrees / Minutes).
• Ability to print waypoint list of all waypoints stored in the LakeMaster system. Lists can be printed in either DMS or DM format.
• Added ability to Pan about the map using a drag and drop feature.
• Increased number of available communication (COM) ports.
• Dramatically improved the drawing speed of the graphics in the LakeMaster system.
• Updated screen refreshing options. Screen display does not refresh after each custom item is created. This allows for quick waypoint creation on a specific lake.
