LakeMaster Digital GPS Fishing Charts - Humminbird GPS Units (SD Cards)

My LakeMaster Humminbird card does not work in my Hummingbird GPS.

Follow through this checklist first:
1. Check to ensure you have a compatible Humminbird GPS HERE.
2. Check to ensure that your Humminbird GPS has the most recent update available on Humminbirds website. You must register your GPS HERE to see what updates are available for your Model
3. Occasionaly setting your Humminbird to North Up under the Nav tab>Chart Orientation Menu option may increase the speed of your unit. LakeMaster Cards will also display in "Course Up" mode.
4. After checking and adjusting the above settings, you should be able to zoom into a LakeMaster Lake and see contours. If you are still having problems displaying contours, please contact LakeMaster directly via phone or email.

Can I add a lake to my chip?

No, LakeMaster does not have the ability to add or download new lakes to an existing LakeMaster Card.

Can I copy my chip?

You can make a backup copy of the mapfile on your computer for archival purposes only. All LakeMaster cards are copyright protected and will not work on any card other than the original. It is also not advised to try to copy your LakeMaster card as you may accidentally overwrite the map file on the card which will render it useless.

Can I use my map chip to save waypoints?

No, LakeMaster suggests taking your LakeMaster card out of the GPS and using a blank SD card to save, load, and transfer waypoint and other information to and from your GPS. Never save information to your LakeMaster card as you could overwrite the map file and render the card useless.

Are my waypoints on my map chip?

Waypoints are always stored on the GPS's internal memory first, unless you manually save them to a specific card.

Can I view my LakeMaster chip on my computer?

No, the LakeMaster Card has a proprietary map file on it that is read by the specific GPS Manufacturer it is intended for. Your computer will simply read the SD card as a removable drive with a map file on it.

I have an older chip, is there a lake list for it?

Can I view the LakeMaster card without GPS satellite reception.

Yes, you do not need satellite reception in order to view the LakeMaster Maps on your GPS.

Why is there missing information on Mississippi River Pools 2 and 3?

Pools 2 and 3 have small unsurveyed gaps in the following areas:
Pool 2
- Ft Snelling area about a 3/4 mi gap
- Lafayette Bridge area in St.Paul, about a 1 mi gap
- Newport Area (below 494 bridge), about a 1 mi gap

Pool 3
- At jct with St.Croix, about 1 3/4 mi gap
- Adjacent to Goves WMA, about a 2 mi gap

What is LakeMaster Contour Pro Software?

Turn your PC or laptop computer into an incredible fishing tool. Using LakeMaster® Contour Pro software you can easily transfer waypoint or route information, print your own customized lake maps, or turn your laptop into a big screen GPS using LakeMaster's Real Time Tracking feature. Some of the new Contour Pro features include the ability to reference aerial imagery, look up critical DNR info, and check the weather for your lake before you go out.

I’m having trouble registering my software

Please use LakeMaster's online Registration form located HERE. After filling out the form LakeMaster will send you an access code that you need to copy and paste into the registration window that pops up when you open the software.

What is My LMCODE?

Your LM Code can be found inside your Contour Pro DVD case on a white sticker. It will start with the letters "LM"

What is my Serialization Code?

Your Serialization Code pops up in a window during the registration process. You will need to copy and paste the serialization code into the online registration form in order to receive an access code and finish the registration process. Please ensure the Serialization code you type into the online form is identical to the code that pops up on your computer. If the code is not an exact match, you will get an invalid registration and will have to resend the code again.

Can I use Contour Pro Software to put maps on my GPS?

No, Contour Pro Software will transfer waypoint and route information to your GPS (Garmin, Lowrance, and most Magellan units) but will not transfer maps.

How do I save and load Waypoints to and from my Lowrance GPS in conjunction with my Contour Pro

To save waypoints from your Lowrance Unit to an SD Card:

1.) Before powering on your unit, insert a BLANK SD Card into one of the units SD Card Slots. NOTE: Make sure you do not have a LakeMaster card also in the unit and are not using a LakeMaster card to save your waypoints to.
2.) After turning your unit on, press the Menu Button two times.
3.) Select the “SYSTEM SETUP” option and press “ENTER” on your units key pad.
4.) Select “TRANSFER MY DATA” and press “ENTER” on your units key pad
5.) After selecting “TRANSFER MY DATA,” you will be asked “TRANSFER DATA WHICH WAY??" Select “SAVE” and press enter.
6.) Your unit will automatically save your data as a .USR file to the SD Card.

To load waypoints from an SD Card to your Lowrance Unit:

1.) Follow steps 1 – 5 from above.
2.) After completing steps 1 – 5, you will need to select “LOAD” (instead of SAVE) then press enter.
3.) Your unit will then automatically load the data (.USR) from your SD Card into the units memory.

I’m getting a ‘geomaster.exe error’ on my software.

Please follow these steps:
1. Windows XP Operating Systems
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data*\Contour Pro Minnesota
Delete the file LKMASTER.GMC
Start program, the program should open normally.
Note* If you do not see the "Application Data" folder, Go to Tools\Folder Options\View\ and select "Show Hidden Files and Folders"

2. Windows Vista Operating Systems
Go to C:\ProgramData\Contour Pro Minnesota
Delete the file LKMASTER.GMC
Start program, the program should open normally.

I’m getting an "Invalid Access Code" when trying to register my software.

The most common reason for this message occurs when the serialization code was incorrectly typed into the online form. If one character is wrong you will receive this message. Please fill out the online form ensuring the Serialization code is correct. If you still receive an "Invalid Access Code" message when trying to complete the registration process, please contact LakeMaster directly.

I’m having difficulty importing/exporting my waypoints

Follow these steps:

1. Ensure you are following the directions step by step in the help file. Click the QUESTION MARK in the top right corner of the Contour Pro Window and choose Basic to access the help menu.
2. If you use a Lowrance GPS, make sure that you save your waypoints from your Lowrance GPS unit as Version 2. See Example
3. Contour Pro does not currently transfer waypoints to Humminbird GPS units.

Is LakeMaster Software Vista Compatible

Contour Pro Software is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. This includes MN, WI, and Woods/Rainy.

The Standard Lakes Software is compatible with Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows XP.

Can I upgrade my LakeMaster Software?

Yes, You must be a previous owner of LakeMaster Software and have a valid LM Code to be eligible for the $50 upgrade. The upgrade is not eligible on Garmin Mapsource products. This is not an upgrade for the MMC card for your GPS unit. Upgrades are available online or over the phone and will ship on a new CD/DVD through the mail. Direct Downloads are not available.
